An Seanachai the oldest thatched pub in the area. Became a pub in 1846 when the bar was opened to cater for mourners to the adjacent famine graveyard. Serving fine local food and drink An Seanachai has a 65 seater restaurant which is open for breakfast lunch and evening meals. Situated on the N25 just outside Dungarvan on the road to Cork.

Taking a trip to An Seanachai is a trip back in time. The original kitchen from the farmhouse is still in place with a massive open fire that is still burning today. The long bar which is originally where the livestock would have been held is unique in looks to this day. A modern restaurant has been added serving fresh local ingredients in Irish and International dishes prepares by our team of chefs. An Seanachai opens for breakfast in season at 8am and the A LA Carte breakfast choice is served until 11.30. Lunch is served from 12 noon and evening service is from 6pm.

A new extension The Venue @AnSeanachai has been hosts to weddings and many family celebrations in addition to being the location of the regular comedy and entertainment nights held here.
