Nóinín Gallery

Artist, Bríd Ní Chionnfhaolaidh established her own private studio and gallery in Dungarvan in August 2016. Brid’s paintings has a distinctively expressive style with clever use of mixed media in vivid bold colours and strong lines. Themes include local landscapes and seascapes, wild flowers, boats and buildings.

Bríd studied at Crawford College of Art & Design, Cork and has a degree in Fine Art. She has travelled extensively throughout Europe, Russia and America. Early on, she revealed an artistic response to her surroundings, particularly the activity she noticed around the harbours and coasts in the area. Her inspiration is drawn from recurring images that appear through the changing seasons- ” A cluster of trawlers at sunset”, “Reflections of sunset after a sudden soft shower, ” Wild daisies, poppies dancing in the summer breeze”.
Her preferred medium is acrylic on canvas, sometimes adding a thin layer of oil colour towards the finish, to accentuate the transparency in areas. She also likes to use mixed media e.g, sand, plaster, paint to add texture and body to her work.

Brid has appeared in several programs on TG4 and RTE in recent years and her work can be found in many major corporate civic and private collections in Ireland and abroad.
