Relaxing Seaweed Bath
Sólás Na Mara Seaweed Baths Helbhic, An Rinn, is a modern healthcare centre located in stunning coastal scenery close to Dungarvan. For a really memorable day, book a double bath and relax in the fresh, warm sea water and local (washed) seaweed that is bursting with minerals and vitamins. After your treatment, you can choose to enjoy a barista coffee and some delicious homemade treats, with free wifi and comfortable lounge couches overlooking An Rinn harbour, with the Comeragh mountains serving as a backdrop in the Sólás Café.
Romantic walk on the beach/Colligan woods
Dungarvan is a unique setting, with close proximity to coastal, mountain and woodland walks. Fall in love for the first time or all over again amongst some of the breathtaking scenery that Dungarvan has on its doorstep. Clonea Strand is located approximately 5km outside Dungarvan and it holds an International Blue Flag award. This long, wide sandy beach provides fantastic views and a delightful scenic walk.
The woodland of Colligan is situated 8km north of Dungarvan. With a recently laid out car park and riverside picnic tables it is a great place to head for a walk and picnic. The wood lies in a beautiful scenic valley through which the River Colligan flows. Access to the woodland is via a quaint wooden bridge. There are a variety of forest walks along the riverside and through the mixed woodland. Easy short walks can be enjoyed on either side of the picnic area whereas longer and more strenuous walks can be had by taking in the loop walk from the picnic site. The landscape here is beautiful whatever the season but it really comes into its own in the autumn when the leaves fall and settle on the ground in hues of gold, amber and russet.
Afternoon tea in The Park Hotel
Relax in the pleasant surroundings of The Park Hotel which is located close to the town centre overlooking the Colligan estuary. Sit in traditionally styled elegant seating, enjoy a range of sandwiches and savour the delightful pastries that are prepared daily by the hotel’s pastry chef.
Cliff House spa treatment and cliff walk views
Take a 20 minute drive to the pretty seaside village of Ardmore. When you get there you can enjoy a romantic stroll on Ardmore’s sandy beach or alternatively why not take the Ardmore cliff walk. This is a looped walk that takes about an hour to complete. During the walk you will traverse the breathtaking panoramic views of Ardmore Head and Ram’s Head as well as passing the shipwreck known as Sampson. You could also incorporate a visit to the luxury five star Cliff House Hotel’s bar for a special lunch or perhaps enjoy a couples retreat in the hotel’s wellness spa, where you can both enjoy a massage in the stunning double treatment room which overlooks Ardmore Bay.
