“An Incredible Family Experience”
I visited the the Greenway last month as a part of a group of three couples. We started in Kilmacthomas and cycled as far as Dungarvan. The weather was a little cold but unusually bright for late November. The two other couples were coming from Dublin to visit for the weekend and I was looking to show off Waterford to them so I decided to go with a trip on the Greenway. It was incredible.
We rented our bikes from Waterford Greenway Bike Hire. The guys there were pure gents. They gave us fabulous Giant bikes (everybody gets these), they made various saddle adjustments etc. with us and we took off. It took us about three or four hours to complete. We went slowly along the way. It is perfectly safe and there were very few times you would need to cross a road. There is even an old-fashioned pub and shop along the way which made it even better.
The best part was we did not have to cycle back as the guys in the bike rental company had a bus waiting for us in Dungarvan. We had time for a quick coffee after dropping the bikes back and we went back to Waterford.
The only thing I could say “negative” about the day was that one of the parties in my group crashed into the back of me and fell from her bike but that was simply my bad cycling. She was ok in the end.Could not recommend the Greenway enough. The Dubs were hugely impressed too!!
